1-Day Acuvue TruEye vs 1-Day Acuvue

More than a decade after the release of 1-Day Acuvue, Vistakon is introducing 1-Day Acuvue TruEye, the first daily wear silicone hydrogel based contact lens. We wanted to know what the differences were, so we looked at both lenses in detail and are highlighting the differences in this comparison chart.

Conclusion:

This comparison is very similar to the comparison of 1-Day Acuvue TruEye versus 1-Day Acuvue Moist.  Without any doubts, 1-Day Acuvue TruEye is the winner in this side-by-side comparison. It is clearly the next generation of disposable contact lenses and a major improvement over 1-Day Acuvue. Althought TruEye is currently only available in limited powers (usually only an issue during the initial introduction period), Acuvue TruEye has better UV blocking, a much higher Dk value and provides way more oxygen flow to the cornea.

Although no yet available in North America, we believe that the price tag for 1-Day Acuvue TruEye will be significant higher than the price tag for 1-Day Acuvue. We estimate the starting price to be in the low to mid 30's.
