Acuvue Advance versus Acuvue Oasys

Many people wonder whether they should try Acuvue Advance or Acuvue Oasys.  As both lenses belong to the same class of lenses (as they have similar characteristics such as replacements schedule) we want to provide a simple comparison chart and highlight the differences.

Conclusion:

Both lenses show very impressive technical parameters. As most Acuvue products, these 2 flagship products come with first class UV blocking and convenience features such as inside-out-mark and visibility tint.

However, the younger Acuvue Oasys provides some significant improvements over Acuvue Advance. The much higher oxygen permeability of Acuvue Oasys should provide patients with improved wearing comfort. In addition Oasys shows a more flexible replacement schedule as patients can wear the lens up to 6 consecutive days and nights.

On the other side, Acuvue Advance comes with a much lower price tag - typical online retail prices indicate that Acuvue Advance is up to 40% cheaper than Oasys.
