With so many contact lens cleaning and multi-purpose solutions on the market, it is difficult to find the right one. We have looked at some of the popular solutions. These lens solutions have been tested on patients wearing Acuvue Oasys contact lenses.
The test - conducted by the Staining Grid Center - is measuring the level of staining (an indicator of lens biocompatibility) 2 hours after insertion. For more information about the test procedure check out staininggrid.com. We are sure, there are other excellent products on the market but we decided to pick the top branded solutions for Acuvue Oasys based on Gary Andrasko's staininggrid site. So, how did we pick them? They are all in the green zone and are showing less than 10% of staining.

Alcon Solution
"I am currently using the Alcon Opti-Clean solution and I love it. My lenses don't dry out too often; I leave them in all day without putting any eye drops in them and it doesn't feel uncomfortable. There's no rubbing required which makes it easier to clean your lenses. Best solution out there!"

Opti Free Replenish use with Acuvue Oasys lenses
"I started to experience an almost conjuncitivitis like infection. Watery eyes/ blurry vision/ VERY DRY and splitting of corners of eyes. Spoke with my Dr. and was told they have been hearing many similar stories from other patients. I was told to discontinue use of Opti-Free Replenish.

"Sara- Interesting!! I have been using that same solution and have been having some problems for about the last 2 months. I wish my doctor would have considered this possibility because I have been wearing my glasses for a month. I will change my contact solution and see if that helps. Thanks for sharing. Maybe they changes the ingredients?
Does anyone know if we can use the RE-NU sensitivity solution? Thanks!" Posted by: Jessica Date: June 9, 2010
