Red Eyes as a Result of Acuvue Oasys
"It’s been about 6 months since I last wore contact lenses, and I continue to get big red veins around my irises, particularly on the medial (inside) edges. I NEVER had veins like these before. Before Oasys, if I had veins appear in my eyes due to contacts, it was lateral (outside) to the irises and never actually TOUCHED my irises. In the last few days, the redness has started to clear up a little as I have forced myself to maintain awareness of how much I squint while using the computer, and this has — through some physiological means by which I doubt I’ll be ever to explain — helped. There are periods in which my eyes look REALLY white again, but if I start getting squinty, the heinous veins come right back. Eye drops have been no use so far, and I’m certain that I am allergic to some of them through some less than wonderful experiences." (Add a comment)

Yesterday I..
"... went to the eye doctor and got contacts(!) I can see again! Without glasses! And Acuvue Oyasis contacts are very comfortable. Unfortunately, taking care of my vision is kind of expensive. Especially on my part-time pay..." (Add a comment)

Goodbye to dry eyes
"My eyes always felt dry and even got bloodshot. This was with my old lenses. No problem with the Oasys. Guess I will keep using them. Only downside: I wish they would be a little bit cheaper." (Add a comment)

I rarely have a problem with dust...
"... and I wear them all day every day. It's a rare occasion when someone catches me in my glasses. I haven't ever used re-wetting drops, either.
I switched contact brands when the Acuvue Oasys came out, and I absolutely love them. I can stand wind blowing in my face and my contacts won't dry out. In the winter I can ride snowmobile without my visor down and not have to worry about drying out my contacts.
Dust or debris in the air doesn't bother me any more than someone without contacts, either. When I had my other brand of contacts, my eyes would dry out easier and I was more sensitive to crud flying in my eyes. But I do love my contacts I have now!" (Add a comment)

I recently switched
"...I recently switched to the Acuvue Oasys brand of disposable lenses, which I like very much but of which I have noticed a bit of a reversal; I have an easier time putting them on than taking them out. It used to be the other way around. These new lenses refuse to surrender from the moist, comforting warmth of my eyes and slip away from my fingertips, only to return to the blue center of the iris. Taking them out, once only requiring a quick swipe, now calls for some patience and cajoling.
I will still take them over glasses and not deal with the frames slipping down my nose or the distortions at the edge of my vision. Looking younger has nothing to do with it. No. sir." (Add a comment)

Loving the New Contacts
"Recently I went to the doctor to update my contact and glasses prescription. Turns out they don't need to be updated but I need a new one just to order new contacts....I have been wearing the same Acuvue lens types forever....and they have been fine, but I am a dry eyed person and I do spend a fair amount of time in front of the computer so I decided to give these a whirl.
I ordered one box figuring if I didn't like them, I could just get my old standbys instead. Well, they came fast and within days I was giving them a try. They are thicker feeling than my old ones when they are in my hand and on my finger but once I put them in my eye, I can't even feel them and they don't DRY out!!!!
I can wear them late and even for hours on the computer and they never bug me....I am loving them to death and highly recommend giving them a try if you have dry eyes or use a computer a lot (or both)." (Add a comment)

I’m fanning Acuvue Oasys
"I’m fanning Acuvue Oasys with HydraClear Plus contacts by Johnson and Johnson. Why? Because they are the first lens I’ve found that don’t make my eyes feel like the unfortunate victims of a horrid chimney sweep accident involving Mary Poppins, after only a few mere hours of wear time.
I don’t know what HydraClear Plus is, but I like it. I’ve tried Acuvue Advanced with HydraClear, and they were a let down for me. Sort of like the new Indiana Jones movie, but with more dryness and less explosions. I guess it’s the PLUS that seems to have made the difference. Who knew!..." (Add a comment)

Must fit properly!
"This lens was made in only one base curve (8.4) until Jan. 2008. When the lens first came out, J&J said on their informational website that almost everyone can wear 8.4. They haven’t admitted they’re wrong, but the fact that they came out with a second base curve (8.8) is pretty much an admission. Many of those who complain about red eyes, pain, feeling like there’s something in there, discharge, infection, are probably suffering from lenses that are too tight. I had exactly those symptoms and my eye doctor just switched me to the 8.8 base curve, which is less curved and ‘grips’ my eyeball less tightly. I experienced almost instantaneous relief. If J&J would only own up to their misfire in putting out only one base curve and claiming it would fit everyone, they would do much better at selling this lens, which does seems to be an improvement over the older soft lenses." Giving up?
"... I am close to giving up on wearing contacts. Over the past 5 weeks, I have tried four brands, from the cheapest to the most expensive contacts. I have come to a conclusion that brand does not matter in choosing the right contacts for my eyes. The important things to remember are how the contacts fit on your eyes as far as the diameter and how they curve on your eyes, the material and thickness of the contacts, the type of cleaning solution you use, your hygiene, how long you wear them and what kind of activities you do while wearing the contacts.... Acuvue Oasys: These are by far the most comfortable contacts…. for one day, I cannot feel them in my eyes at all. The first day I was wearing them, they felt so moist. But then the second day (today), since I was in front of the computer the whole time at work, my eyes felt so dry however when I looked in the mirror, my eyes look fine - no redness or anything. When I say my eyes were dry, they felt like there are sand/grit inside my eyes and my eyes felt like they’re cut. I took the contacts right after I got home. I just couldn’t wait to take them out when I was at work today but I didn’t have my contacts case and solution with me. These contacts by far is the most expensive ones in the market that I know of just because you have to replace them every other week. With Biofinity contacts, you only have to replace them once every month. I’ve been doing some research on the internet, and I found that the last three contacts I wore are silicon hydrogel contacts, which means these contacts are made of silicon. I don’t know if I am just allergic to silicon or what. The doctor had given me Clear Care cleaning solution for use with Biofinity and Acuvue Oasys since he suspected that I might be allergic to the Opti-Free solution. After researching on the internet, I’ve found that some silicon hydrogel contacts just can’t be cleaned well enough with multipurpose solution. You have to use hydrogen peroxide based solution to clean them with. It costs more than the regular multipurpose solution...." (Add a comment)

Simple Pleasures
"I went to an optometrist today to get fitted for a new kind of contact lens. For something that held its moisture better. I don’t think putting in rewetting drops every 30 minutes is conducive to a productive work environment. I’m going to get the Acuvue Oasys. When I tried on the trial pair, it’s honestly the first time I remember not being aware that I had an artificial lens floating on the surface of my eye. I mean, I couldn’t feel it. I knew I had it in, I could see, obviously it wasn’t just magic that I finally had 20/20.
But the other huge part of my day, the thing that made that particular eye exam/fitting so much more worth it, so much more fulfilling was finding out that they actually made color contacts that I could wear. Normally, eye exams are incredibly depressing for me. My eyes get worse (it’s really been all downhill for the last 2 decades), my frame possibilities shrink, the price of glasses goes up, and I need to change my contact prescription. Again. And due to the moisture issue, I only ever really wear contacts during the summer.
I don’t expect to wear the color contacts ALL the time. So, in comparison to the number of boxes of Oasys I’ll get, one box of the colored stuff will probably last me a while. I’m so incredibly excited. So I may not be able to have awesome hair all the time (RIP punky red underlayer) (I do have secret awesome hair though)… but at least I’ve finally been granted the option of colored contacts." I’ve worn contact lenses for over 20 years now...
"... and have tried all different kinds of lenses throughout the years and my favorite so far are definitely the Acuvue Oasys that are available to order on-line at http://www.1800getlens.com. This is a site that I have been using for a few years now very successfully, so I thought that I would pass along that they are a reliable company to order from while on-line or by calling the 800 number.
One of the many reasons that I use acuvue oasis (both spellings of oasys are correct by the way) is that the lenses are tinted, but not so that it will change our eye colors at all, but so as to ease the process of handling the contacts, it makes it easier to locate the lens while in your hand, while soaking in the solution or possibly even aid you in finding the lens if you ever have the miss fortune of loosing a lens on the floor or anywhere else for that matter. Their web-site is safe and secure, it only takes a few minutes to do the ordering on-line and the prices are discounted up to 70% on tons of lenses from the big brand name companies. I’ve turned several people onto this site and so far I’ve heard of no complaints." (Add a comment)

New Eyes
"After several years without them, I picked up my first trial set of Contacts today. These are different than the Acuvue lenses I wore 9-10 years ago. I never wore the Toric lenses before because at the time I was just trying them out. I loved my Acuvue lenses but got lazy and had some money/job issues that made me cut out that expense and just live in my glasses.
Recently, although I love my 1-year old glasses, I've been wishing for more. More peripheral vison, mostly, so I used my flex-spending account for a Contact exam. Of course I choose spring (allergy season) to test out the waters and my eyes are definitely rebelling against this foreign object.
I will get used to them, though, and love them more than I already am starting to (minor discomfort and all). It's probably not the smartest move to start wearing them after a day staring at the computer at work, only to come home and play on the computer as well." (Add a comment)

Why I stick with Acuvue Oasys
"Lov'em! I have been using Acuvue Oasys for 8 months now and I'm completely satisfied. I first tried Focus Dailies and was first skeptical to switch to a weekly lens, but these lenses are great - no dryness and very comfortable." (Add a comment)
Great contacts
"Oasys contacts are great if your eyes dry out really quickly. The vision does blur a little, but not enough to be noticeable. I've been wearing Oasys contacts for about a year, and personally, the trade off between the comfort I feel in my eyes versus the slightly blurred vision (not enough to even notice) made me renew these for another year." (Add a comment)
Excellent Contacts
"I have been wearing these type of contacts for the last year - I do alot of computer work and my eyes were always drying out - these are the best out there that i have tried. My eyes don't feel tired or dried out. I recommend this type of contact lenses." (Add a comment)
These Lenses ROCK, but....
"These lenses are some of the MOST comfortable lenses I have ever worn. I have sensitive eyes and a touch of dry eye now that I'm in my 30's. That said I did notice that it's important to use a multipurpose solution designed for silicone hydrogel and RUB. I found for myself--AMO Peroxide solution or Clear Care Peroxide feels the best!!!" They feel great in the eyes but they cause bluriness
"read some other reviews and i guess i am not the only one that gets blurred vision with these contacts. I think they are great for distance viewing, but for reading they are horrible." (Add a comment)
The only lenses that have worked for me.
"I love this product. After trying out about 6 or 7 different brands, I never thought I would find contacts that would work for me. After trying Acuvue Oasys, I will never go back. I frequently forget that I am wearing them, because they are so comfortable. They rarely dry out and are super comfy!" (Add a comment)
Regular User
"I used Acuvue Oasys lenses for over a year now and first 4/5 months they were ok and good and for the last 6 months supply they torn in edges and dont last long and when u show them at light both lenses seem to be different material and now i can only manage to last one pair of lens per week as they get dried off even though i take them out every night. i have been using acuvue lenses for over 3 years now and now they look like they not original acuvue as they used to be." Acuvue
"I've been wearing Acuvue contact lens since J&J first came out with them years ago. They are extremely comfortable and easily worn 24 hours/day for 2+ weeks at a time. I was thrilled to find a contact lens I did not have to remove nightly that was comfortable. I have recommended to many friends that they try Acuvue contacts and they are very pleased with them."
